About

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who offers individual, group, and family counseling.    I have been a Psychotherapist/Counselor since 1994. I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches including EMDR and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.  I also offer Feeling State Addiction Protocol to help with addictions including eating issues.  In addition to Mindfulness I offer various resourcing techniques to help with anxiety and stress.  Currently, I am offering tele-therapy due to the pandemic and work with teenagers age 16 and up as well as adults.  I was a licensed attorney and have done work in the areas of mediation, and served as an advocate for individuals who were being harassed by debt collection agencies   I  also taught paralegal studies classes and represented children in court as a guardian ad litem.

I became aware that many of the issues I encountered as an attorney and guardian ad litem could be helped greatly by a skilled psychotherapist.   My belief that there is a strong correlation between mental and physical health led me to also obtain certification as a Fitness Instructor (specializing in yoga and meditation).

My “healthy lifestyle” approach to counseling patients involves the incorporation of nutritional, physical fitness and stress reduction plans.  I demonstrate practical lifestyle strategies that clients can use to change detrimental behavioral patterns into positive ones.  I incorporate yoga,  breathing, and various meditation exercises into my therapy.   I provide a supportive and caring therapeutic environment.   I am very careful to preserve the strictest of confidentiality for my patients (except as required by law).

Some of the issues I’ve treated are: Depression, Anxiety, Eating Disorders, Emotional Concerns interfering with Weight Loss Goals, Pain, Fibromyalgia, Stress, Anger, Coping with Health Problems, Relationship Issues, Panic Attacks, Goal Setting.  Sometimes people enter counseling to help clarify their feelings and their goals in life.

If you would like to speak to me about your concerns and possibly schedule an appointment, please contact me by e-mail or phone.
